Killed in Action 3 May 1945

Farrell was on duty at the after battle dressing station.  He managed to escape the devastation there, only to be killed moments later.

He was awaiting transfer for corpsman training.

His wife was pregnant when he died.

 

Farrell, an Elder in the LDS church, often led us in services in the ship’s mess hall, on Sunday. We didn’t rate a Chaplain but between Lt. Wallace and Farrell, we managed without one. --W. Fowers
