Dear and loving Father
You have gone to rest;
It's hard, so hard to speak the words
We must forever part.
The world may
change from year to year
And friends from day to day,
But never will the one we loved
From memory pass away.
A precious one
from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled,
A true and kind and faithful husband
And a fond and loving Dad.
In our hearts
your memory lingers
Always tender, fond and true,
There is not a day, dear Father,
We do not think of you.
No more your
little girls
Will take you by the hand,
But they will strive to meet you
In the better land.
The years may wipe
out many things,
But this they wipe out never,
The memory of those happy days
When we were all together.
Farewell, dear
and loving Father,
For your troubles all are o'er,
Never shall we forget you,
Farewell for evermore.
