Lloyd "was from San Diego, California.  He was the oldest of four children.  He met my mother, Jean Farley Castanien, during the war.  Lloyd was well liked by everyone.  He made my mother a bracelet from the smokestack of the Aaron Ward.  It was made using part of the radio room communications in black and a liberty head dime.  Lloyd settled in New Jersey after the war.  He was a builder in Hunterdon County for many years.  I am the oldest child, Wendy, and have two brothers, Lloyd Eric and Marc.  We are all very proud of our father and his service to our country.  We will always remember him as the best father, and a well liked man by all who met him.   He passed away on April 10, 1988."
