Bob died March 16, 2001.
He is
survived by three children, Dale, Janet, and Jeffrey. He was Captain of the VFW
Color Guard and made sure any Veteran's family desiring a
military funeral was represented with the Color Guard.
He was active in the VFW and American Legion.
His friend, Fred Schiesser, from VFW Post 770, in
Catskill,
wrote this poem to honor Bob on memorial
Day:
Bob was a friend of yours and mine
And we think about him all the time.
He fought in World War Two
And always stood for the Red, White, and Blue.
Throughout the years comrades passed away,
And Bob would be there everyday,
The rifles would fire and taps would blow,
'Cause Bob wanted everyone to know
Veterans never die, they're always in his
heart
They might pass away, but never will depart.
Bob's life was dedicated just for you and me
So that we may live and always be free.
We will miss Bob on this Memorial Day,
The Lord has chosen to take him away.
But let us remember all he had to give
And in our hearts, let him always live.
